We had a number of incredible entries in both the above and under 18 categories for the Envision the Future Design Contest! There can be only 3 winners in each category, but you can check out all of the entries here. Without further ado, here are your under 18 winners!

Under 18 Winners

3rd Place

Music for all by SebDrummer

This design allows¬†the blind to feel and interact with music rather than just listen. Composers arrange each of their notes in a grid and press down to make a braille imprint. Congratulations SebDrummer, you’ve won a $50 MatterHackers Gift Card!

2nd Place

Spotty(X): A Braille Multiplication Educational Tool by Robert Van Zyl

The Spotty(X) is used to allow visually impaired students to practice multiplication in a tactile way. Numbers are expressed via 4 braille rollers for a fully interactive experience.

1st Place

USA Braille Map: Feel The World by samsuchin

This map allows visually impaired students to get a physical sense for the layout of the United States! It makes for an easy print and great educational tool that has won samsuchin a LulzBot Mini!

Tactile Circuit Blocks by Mike_Curtis

This clever print and design helps to teach the visually impaired basic circuitry. The blocks are printed using standard PLA with dual-extruded conductive filament channels and can be combined together magnetically. 

2nd place

Rotational Line Graphing Tool by Justin Larson

The Line Graphing Tool helps to teach algebra to visually impaired students. Move and rotate the line to show how different values change the equation y=mx+b. Justin Larson has won a $100 MatterHackers Gift Card and Crafty 3D Printing Pen!

1st place

Rubik’s Cube Braille Tiles by gorgesjonathan

Our first place winner is gorgesjonathan with 3D Printed Rubik’s Cube Braille tiles! This is¬†an excellent challenge both for those with visual impairments and those without and Jonathon has won a Lulzbot Taz 6 3D Printer, MatterControl T10, and Three Spools of MatterHackers PRO Series PLA.¬†
